For me it falls into the category of being a great movie that's still overrated by the diehard fans. It is brutal and hard to continue with especially because the payoff is only at the very end. Extreme films are polarizing. True horror fans love how fucked up a cinematic film can be, how far it can test their limits.

I wasn't prepared for the ending because of the cliche beginning scenes with the monster reminiscent of asian horror movie ghosts.
